Our Data, Ourselves: Safeguarding Privacy in the Age of Big Data

In October 2019, I presented a speech on my work in data privacy at the Annual Conference of the Long Island Library Resources Council. It was held at a country club and there were around 250 people in attendance.
I’m one to foreground the voice of others, so I built sections into my talk where folks could converse with neighbors at their tables about guiding questions in my slides.
Speaking of which, we’d already embarked upon the Privacy in Public exhibit and had sent a photographer out to capture photos. Those photos became the background of my slides.
